On November 24 delegation of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by the State Secretary Mr. Daniel Ioniță, visited European Humanities University (EHU) and took part in the discussion with the University leadership.
The delegation of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, composed of the State Secretary Mr. Daniel Ioniță, Ambassador of Romania in Lithuania and Latvia Mr. Dan Balanescu, Counsellor at the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Vasile Ungureanu and Diplomatic Counsellor at the Embassy of Romania Mrs. Bianca Mina, met EHU President and Rector as a part of official visit to Lithuania.
During the visit guests and leadership of the University discussed the importance of EHU mission and history, the University’s engagement into Belarusian civil society, as well as emphasized the importance of finding possible ways of cooperation and support of EHU in the context of transformations taking place in the Eastern Europe. Implementation of the “Thematic frameworks” of the European Neighborhood Policy was also discussed during the meeting.
EHU Rector Prof. David Pollick said: “We are very happy that the delegation of Romania headed by Mr. Daniel Ioniță visited European Humanities University. Members of the delegation showed a particular interest in University’s history, current academic activities and future plans. We also exchanged opinions on the perspectives for the development of the Eastern Partnership countries”.
Mr. Daniel Ioniță noted: “European Humanities University is a space of dialogue with Belarusian reality and civil society in Belarus. Education serves as a most efficient platform for the dialogue; in this regards utmost importance of EHU is demonstrated”.
