Head of Gender Studies Center wins international research award

The Director of the European Humanities University’s Center for Gender Studies and Associate Professor at Western Michigan University’s Department of Sociology Prof. Elena Gapova has been named a recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award in Slavic and East European Gender Studies.

The award was established by the Association for Women in Slavic Studies and recognizes the work of a scholar in the field of Slavic Studies who has also served as a mentor to female students/colleagues in the field.

The Association for Women in Slavic Studies supports research and teaching in women's and gender studies in Central/Eastern Europe, Russia, and Eurasia. The official award will be presented on November 22 in Boston.
