EHU’s individualized approach and academic freedom draw prospective students to Open Door Day

Over fifty prospective students together with their parents from all over Belarus attended EHU's Autumn Open Door Day on Saturday, October 27. Overall, students named EHU’s individualized approach, academic freedom, and the attractiveness of life in Vilnius as the main reasons they would consider applying to EHU.

“I have a very positive impressions of EHU. I would really like to study here, because education here is very different from what is available in Belarus. There is much more freedom and opportunities available to students. It’s my first time in Vilnius and I really enjoy this beautiful city,” said Andrei, a prospective student from Maladechna.

“I came to EHU to see if this is the right place for me. I was impressed with how the Open Door Day was organized. At EHU you can talk to representatives of different programs, converse with university staff and professors. In Belarus they get you seated in an auditorium and tell you some basic things about the university. At EHU the approach is much more individualized, and this is great,” said Julia, a prospective student from Minsk.

At EHU's Open Door Day high school students have an opportunity to meet current students, learn about EHU programs, activities, and opportunities, and even take a practice admissions exam. They also meet with the leadership and administrative staff of EHU and can ask questions regarding the admissions process, tuition and financial aid, residence permits, and other topics of interest.

EHU's next Open Door Days will take place 25-31 March 2013.
