The European Humanities University’s Vice-Rector for Development and Communications Darius Udrys moderated a debate on higher education among Lithuania's top candidates for public office. Participating were Lithuania's Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius, Minister of Science and Education Gintaras Steponavičius, and eight other leaders and representatives of Lithuania's most popular political parties. The event took place at the ISM University of Management and Economics in Vilnius and was organized by Lithuanian National Student Union (LSS).
Topics included the impact of recent higher education reforms, funding for higher education, youth unemployment, financing of university studies, conditions in student dormitories, and internationalization of higher education.
Lithuanian National Student Union President Dainius Dikšaitis expressed his hope that cooperation between public officials and student representatives will continue following October 14 parliamentary elections.
