European Humanities University (EHU) students will hold a Christmas Charity Bazaar on Monday, December 19 at 6:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend and help support the orphanage “Gile” (Lakštingalų g. 9, Vilnius).
Attendees will be able to purchase handmade crafts, souvenirs, and pastries made by students, enjoy holiday music, and try their luck in a lottery organized by LitPro—a social-cultural project of the European Humanities University that promotes intercultural dialog between Belarus and Lithuania.
A box with a list of wishes from children living at the orphanage will be located in the EHU campus hall. EHU students invite everyone to help make the wishes of these children come true. This year EHU Student‘s Union received 59 letters from children.
The Christmas Charity Bazaar follows in the tradition established by EHU students last year, when EHU's Department of Foreign languages, LitPro, and EHU's Student Union collected funds for the Children's Tuberculosis Department at the Tuberculosis and Infectious Diseases Hospital.
The European Humanities University is a private, non-profit liberal arts university founded in Minsk in 1992. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the university has been headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania since authorities expelled it from Belarus in 2004.
