The European Humanities University (EHU) and the Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, and Swedish Chambers of Commerce in Lithuania organized a trip for chamber members interested in meeting EHU MBA students and alums as well as other private businesspeople in Belarus.
The delegation of 26 people visited Lidskoe Pivo—a Finnish company that produces beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Director General Audrius Miksys told them of the company's plans to expand production and increase sales in Belarus as well as the challenges of running a business there.
Participants were briefed on the loan system for small businesses at the Bank of Reconversion and Development (RRB-Bank) and on the IT sector by the Innovative Association System Technologies (ST Group), a company that specializes in IT solutions for financial institutions and is rapidly expanding due to contracts with Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and other countries.
The delegation also met and exchanged contacts with EHU’s MBA Program alumni and students, who are all active business professionals.
This trip was EHU's second business-to-business (B2B) event organized in partnership with the Nordic Chambers of Commerce. The B2B initiative is aimed at facilitating contact with businesspeople in Belarus.
In January, EHU and the Danish Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish Chambers of Commerce in Lithuania, organized a B2B seminar and mixer that brought together over 50 businesspeople from Belarus and the region.
