EHU Governing Board elects new chair

The European Humanities University (EHU) is pleased to announce that Dr. Daniel Tarschys, professor emeritus of political science at the University of Stockholm, has been elected new chair of the University's Governing Board. Tarschys has a distinguished career and background in academia and politics. He has served as a member of the Swedish parliament and as secretary of state. He was also secretary general of the Council of Europe and vice-president of the International Political Science Association. He chairs the board of Riksbankens Jubileumsfond and is a member of the Swedish Royal Academy of Science.

Dr. Dan Davidson, president of American Councils for International Education, who has been a long-standing member of EHU's Governing Board and served as its acting chair following the passing of its former chair, Per Unckel, has been elected vice-chair. The Governing Board also approved the proposed membership of Per-Kristian Foss, a Norwegian politician who is currently second vice-president of parliament.
