Nearly 60 EHU alumni came to Vilnius to meet former classmates and teachers at EHU's Second Annual Alumni Homecoming. During the two-day program, alumni toured the new Palace of the Grand Dukes, enjoyed a relaxing afternoon on the lake in Trakai, attended a professional development workshop, and networked with Yale alumni following an open-air concert in Old Town Vilnius by the Yale Alumni Chorus.
“My four years at EHU were probably the best years of my life, which I will never forget,” said Valiantsina Malinava (Class of 2005).
“I found my best friends at EHU,” said Marina Dalidovich (Class of 2009). “It was a good first step in life.”
EHU alumni also took part in the first-ever Distinguished Alumni Award ceremony. EHU alumna Aliaksandra Ihnatovich was named the most Distinguished Alumna of 2013 following an online vote.
This year's Homecoming attracted alumni both from EHU's Minsk period (1992-2004) as well as from the Vilnius period (from 2005). Alumni came from all around Europe, including from Belarus, Italy, Lithuania, Serbia, and Turkey.
“We're going to make an annual alumni homecoming a tradition at EHU. By inviting our graduates to get together, we want to strengthen their network and show the benefits they can get from staying in touch. So far our alumni have been very active and appreciative of such efforts,” says EHU’s Alumni Relations Coordinator Andrei Khrapavitski (Class of 2010).
The First Annual EHU Alumni Homecoming took place last year in Vilnius.
