Bundestag delegation sees EHU as a partner in developing educational projects

On October 5, 2015 a group of members of the German Federal Parliament (Bundestag) visited European Humanities University (EHU) and met with EHU leadership. According to members of the Bundestag delegation, “EHU should remain an important medium within German-Lithuanian-Belarusian cooperation in the field of higher education”.

During the visit, members of the Bundestag delegation and EHU leadership discussed role and mission of EHU as a Belarusian University seeking to strengthen and maintain Bologna standards in educational development. Head of the delegation MdB Karl Alois (CDU/CSU) highlighted importance of German-Lithuanian-Belarusian cooperation in the field of higher education and contribution of EHU to it. Additionally, Mr. Alois officially invited EHU to be a partner in establishing the German Institute for Eastern European Studies, which is aimed to provide better research possibilities and focus towards Eastern Europe.

“The visit of the Bundestag delegation to EHU and productive discussion with its members indicates new opportunities for our cooperation with German universities and research centers”, - said President of EHU Prof. Anatoli Mikhailov.

During the visit, Bundestag delegation learned about University’s history and its recent developments as well. Guests also demonstrated interest in Germany-related activities, conducted within EHU.
